These terms represent our open software principles and initial developer guidelines. Commercial warranties, binding arbitration clauses, and corporate entity declarations are subject to revision prior to official commercial release. Applicable governing law and definitive entity incorporation will be established upon final release cutoff.
1. Acceptance of Terms & Pre-Release Scope
By downloading, compiling, running the Agent Deck Desktop application, integrating the open Agent Protocol via socket interfaces, or placing a pre-order reservation for The Deck physical hardware, you enter into a binding agreement governed by these Terms of Service.
You expressly recognize and confirm that current versions of Agent Deck software, firmware, and accompanying libraries represent early developer-stage builds ("Pre-Release", "Alpha", or "Developer Preview"). Features, protocols, and architectural endpoints may undergo breaking changes across minor releases.
To maintain transparency with open developer communities, Agent Deck does not assert fictitious entity registration codes or premature arbitration venues. Definitive corporate entity structuring and designated governing law will be formally published upon general availability (GA) commercial release.
2. License & Software Use (Desktop App)
The core daemon, telemetry event emitters, and standard socket adapters comprising the Agent Deck runtime are published under permissive developer licensing guidelines (MIT/Apache 2.0 dual alignment).
- Inspect, audit, fork, and verify daemon source code.
- Build custom CLI instrumentation and companion apps.
- Deploy runtime orchestrators to private local clusters.
- Package custom telemetry widgets within the open schema.
- Redistribute tainted binaries bearing official signatures.
- Bypass hardware safety interlocks or firmware fuses.
- Claim official manufacturer endorsement of forks.
- Weaponize automated execution loops for malicious probing.
3. Hardware Companion (The Deck)
The Deck is an ergonomic macro console equipped with mechanical switches, rotary encoders, and OLED state indicators designed for real-time inspection and manual intervention over local autonomous developer pipelines.
Any price points shown are illustrative reference tiers intended for developer community scoping. Final hardware cost, batch dispatch timings, and duty obligations are contingent upon localized tooling validation and international electronics certification (CE, FCC, RoHS).
Pre-order reservations are completely refundable prior to final production cutover notifications. You will receive an explicit confirmation sequence before any payment card is charged for final production delivery.
4. AI Agent Integrations & Third-Party Services
Agent Deck functions strictly as a tactile verification dashboard and approval orchestrator. It connects to third-party language models and agent frameworks—including Anthropic Claude Code, OpenAI Codex/API, Cursor background processes, and open-source models (Ollama, vLLM, DeepSeek).
Execution of arbitrary shell commands, destructive file operations (rm -rf, database migrations, package installations), or remote Git pushes triggered by approving an action in Agent Deck (whether by clicking the UI or pressing physical hardware keys) are executed directly under your local shell credentials and permissions.
You maintain sole, non-delegable responsibility for reviewing proposed code diffs and tool invocations prior to granting execution clearance.
5. User Conduct & Local Script Execution
Because Agent Deck grants tactical visibility into your active developer filesystem, you agree not to use the platform to orchestrate automated malware generation, unauthorized credential harvesting, or distributed network denial attacks against external targets.
You are expected to configure sensible execution boundaries within your agent configuration profiles (such as restricting write scopes to repository roots and avoiding execution with elevated root or administrator privileges whenever possible).
6. Intellectual Property & Code Ownership
You retain complete, exclusive, and unencumbered ownership of all source code, software architectures, model prompts, configurations, and outputs generated while utilizing Agent Deck.
Agent Deck Systems asserts zero ownership rights, copyright claims, licensing demands, or telemetry monetization over your intellectual property. Your code remains yours—always.
All trademarks, product branding, hardware tooling industrial designs, and official documentation remain the property of Agent Deck Systems Inc. or its founding contributors.
7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
Under no circumstances shall the authors, maintainers, or founding contributors be held liable for:
- Developer environment downtime, build failure, or lost developer productivity.
- Terminal command side-effects or unintended database mutations executed during agent runs.
- Data loss, merge anomalies, or unintentional Git branch corruptions.
- Hardware peripheral degradation resulting from unauthorized firmware flashes, over-volting, or physical modifications.
In any event, our total cumulative liability arising out of or related to these terms shall not exceed the amount actually paid by you to Agent Deck over the prior twelve (12) months.
8. Amendments & Termination
As the Agent Protocol stabilizes and production hardware specifications reach maturity, we will amend this document. Material changes will be accompanied by an incremented release version tag in our public GitHub repository and notified through the Desktop Companion update feed.
You may terminate your agreement with these terms at any time by ceasing usage of the Desktop App and uninstalling background socket daemons.
